Selection of decay characteristics
Initial high brightness: this material has a steep decay curve with a high brightness in the beginning, but less performance in the long term.
Long lasting: this type of material has a flat decay curve with lower brightness in the beginning, but outstanding performance over time.
The mass of pigment applied on the dial or hands influences the primary brightness: each crystal works like a small “light battery”—the more applied, the greater the light storage capacity. In practical use, larger areas and thicker layers of luminous deposits strongly improve brightness and legibility. This can be achieved, for example, by deeper engraving. Intense body colors can decrease brightness significantly; each Unimatic Modello Uno dial is tested to optimize luminous performance and readability.
