Under a sapphire sky, the Italian Maremma unfolds its secrets to the human eye like a kaleidoscopic snake. Rolling hills, long coastlines, green plains, soft mountains and deep woods are inhabited by more than one culture, more than one dialect, more than one people.
Since 2019, the Italian Maremma has been hosting a project which melts into the landscape and its communities. Hypermaremma is a celebration of art, nature and human connections. It is an art festival rooted everywhere, all at once, following the genre of the diffused museum. By its nature, Hypermaremma shines a light on the land and its beauty through the works of art spread out over it. A thread unravels, connecting each work of art to the next, in a path that runs through the Maremma. No need to rush: everything can be at your fingertips at any time of the day, any time of the year. As a matter of fact, Hypermaremma develops yearly programmes that allow to experience the land, its people, the works of art and the deep connection among the three to the fullest, in all their evolving facets, throughout seasons and hours of the day.
Hypermaremma was founded as a Social Promotion Association by gallerists Carlo Pratis and Giorgio Galotti, together with collector Matteo d’Aloja. April 4th, 2026 marks the start of the VIII Hypermaremma Edition, with its most dynamic approach yet.
UNIMATIC AND HYPERMAREMMA TOGETHER
For the occasion, Hypermaremma partnered with UNIMATIC for a limited edition project of 30 iconic watches. UNIMATIC lends its distinctive straightforward style to the wild nature of the Italian Maremma, joining the two sides in a celebration of art, design and Italian landscape. The watch wears this dialogue proudly on its sleeve: the work Prospettiva Cielo by Mauro Staccioli makes the watch stand out both in terms of art pieces and watch design. The three pyramids, one of the most essential and archetypal shapes, reach for the infinite sky while sprouting from deep underground. Everything is framed by Hypermaremma’s characteristic neon yellow color, which runs through the watch’s face and paint its graphic markings, making the watch visible by day and in the dark of the night.
Through this dialogue, Hypermaremma and UNIMATIC aim at celebrating the land we live on and the time we are given to cherish it. Identity, design and time flow one into the other in sharp and vibrant shades of neon yellow and in works of art that remind us of the timelessness of nature and art in an ephemeral existence.
