  • Preserve your watch

    WATER RESISTANCE:

UNIMATIC® watches are designed and singularly tested to provide the maximum performances. Before using any watch in water make sure the crown is screwed in completely and tightly. Do not operate the crown underwater. If used in sea water, rinse the watch in fresh water and dry it completely. Please refer to your model details to check the water resistance specifications.

    TEMPERATURE RANGE

Your watch works with stable accuracy in a temperature range of 5°C and 35°C (41°F and 95°F). Do not leave your watch in very low temperatures below -10°C or +14°F for a long period of time since the cold may cause a slight time loss or gain. However, accuracy will be restored once the watch returns at normal temperature.

    SHOCKS & VIBRATIONS:

General light activities will not affect your watch, but be careful not to drop your watch or hit it against hard surfaces, as this may cause damage or scratches to the metal surface.

    CHEMICALS

Be careful not to expose the watch to solvents, mercury, cosmetic sprays, detergents, adhesives or paints, as the case, bracelet, etc. may become discolored or damaged.

    MAGNETISM

Avoid contact with magnets, or putting your watch on top of loudspeakers, refrigerators or magnetic cases for tablets or other electrical devices since such objects generate magnetic fields which could disturb the functions of your watch. Our watches are  tested up to 4,800 A/m (approx. 60 gauss).

    PROTECTIVE FILM

If your watch has a protective lm and/or a sticker on the case back, make sure to peel them off before using your watch. Otherwise, perspiration getting under them may rust the case back.

  • Movement accuracy

If your watch loses or gains a few seconds per day, you can correct it without an expert aid. The rate of a watch varies slightly depending upon its position. Take it off at night and place it as follows:

To gain few seconds: Lay the watch flat with the dial uppermost.

To lose a few seconds: Lay the watch vertically with the winding button downwards.

To lose more seconds: Lay the watch vertically with the winding button uppermost.

  • Product care

    CARE OF CASE AND BRACELET:

To prevent possible rusting of the case and bracelet caused by dust, moisture and perspiration, wipe them periodically with a soft dry cloth. For deep cleaning use a toothbrush with soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.

    LEATHER STRAPS:

UNIMATIC® recommends that you follow the steps below in order to preserve the condition of your leather strap:

    – avoid contact with water and dampness to prevent discolouration and deformation.

    – avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent fading

    – do not forget that leather is permeable. Avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetic products.

    SERVICE:

Like any precision instrument, a watch needs regular servicing to ensure that it functions perfectly. We cannot indicate the exact optimal frequency of such work, as it depends entirely on the model, the climate and the owner’s individual care of the watch. However as a general rule, a watch should be serviced every 4 to 5 years, depending on the conditions in which it is used.

    SCREW DOWN CROWN:

All of our watches are fitted with a screw-down crown which must be unscrewed to alter the date and time. After use, push the crown into position 1 then press and screw the crown back down, failure to screw the crown down will compromise water-resistance.

    CASE BACK PROTECTIVE FILM:

If your watch has a protective film and/or a sticker on the case back, make sure to peel them off before using your watch. Otherwise, perspiration getting under them may rust the case back.
